Welcome to Oak Class

Welcome to Oak Class, where each child’s journey at Bowsland Green begins.

Reception is a wonderfully exciting year. It is a time for children to make new friends, grow in confidence and discover the joy of learning. Our welcoming classroom and outdoor areas give children plenty of opportunities to explore, create, investigate, talk and play.

Through a balance of carefully planned teaching and purposeful play, the children develop the early knowledge and skills they need for future learning. We enjoy sharing stories, learning phonics, exploring numbers, getting creative and finding out about the world around us. We also follow the children’s interests, allowing their questions and ideas to help shape our learning.

Our school vision, Empowering Excellence; Daring to Dream, begins in Oak Class. We encourage every child to:

We work closely with families because children thrive when home and school work together. We love hearing about the children’s experiences and achievements outside school, and families can share these with us through Class Dojo.

• Miss Hall – Class Teacher, Monday to every other Wednesday
• Mrs Tye – Class Teacher, Every other Wednesday to Friday
• Miss Osborne – Teaching Assistant, Monday to Friday
